"Dean and Sam Winchester were both born as werewolves. Growing up abandoned, they learned how to keep themselves from feeding on humans, instead eating pig hearts. They tend to keep away from humans, leading to find friends who are also monsters trying their best to not harm humans; Charlie, a red-haired lesbian vampire, is among one of them. One of the few human friends they have is Castiel, who considers Dean his best friend."
