(Ex) Prince of Fire

Admittedly I've done better drawings of Markus but I'm too lazy to fix this up right now.

Markus Hale is a Pyrousian human. Like all modern Pyrousian humans he has an extreme resistance to heat and fire, but there is also a gene in his sequence that very few have that allows him to make his own fire.

It is a secret kept with only those closest to him that he is what they call the "Last Prince of Arde." A long time ago the Pyrousian kingdom of Arde, a generally peaceful country, went to war against a neighboring kingdom. They were heavily outmatched, unfortunately, and paid a severe price of losing the war: almost everyone was slaughtered. It is said that the king died on the battle field. The queen, however, was beheaded. The prince managed to escape under the protection of a royal servant, only five years old at the time.

Years afterwards Markus was introduced to the criminal world, doing a wide assortment of jobs (namely arson and assassination) for money. He later left such work in favor of his forge, where he runs a business as a metal-smith. One of his greatest achievements is the metal arm Leo Monguel now uses as a prosthetic. He now has an apprentice/assistance by the name of Kalos Zimp.

It is clear that remnants of his royal past still lingers today, often in the way he talks, his posture, and even his walk. He is quite skilled in the art of combat and swordplay, but tends to use his own fire while in battle.
